Iowa Outfitter #1
This outfitter offers deer hunts in one of the top deer hunting destinations in the country, in SE Iowa. Year in and year out world class deer are harvested from this area. They offer archery and gun hunts. All hunting is done from either a tree stand or box blind, absolutely no still hunting or driving deer is allowed.
LICENSES & TAGS
Non-resident Iowa tags must be applied for and are issued through a random draw. The application period runs through the month of May each year and hunters applying to hunt with us in Iowa should apply for Zone 6.
RESERVATION AND DEPOSIT POLICIES
Reservations require a 50% deposit with the unpaid balance due on September 1st. Once received, your confirmation and balance due will be sent along with a detailed map to their location.
Deposits are non refundable. However, they may be transfered to another hunter not currently booked. Deposits on Iowa hunts can also be transferred to their Missouri hunt (depending on availability) if you fail to draw or can be applied to Iowa for the following year.
MINIMUM TROPHY POLICY
To better manage the trophy quality of the deer, they have a strict 130" minimum. Any hunter harvesting a deer that does not meet the minimum will be charged a $500 harvest fee. Any hunter who harvests a button buck will be charged a $250 penalty fee. Young hunters are the exception to this and have no minimum restrictions.
All hunters must be properly licensed for their specific hunt.
All hunters must wear a saftey harness while hunting from a treestand. If you do not have one, we will provide one.
All hunters must wear appropriate blaze orange for the hunts that require it (Shotgun, or Muzzleloader. Solid blaze hats and vests are required.)
All hunters must stay in assigned hunting location until picked up by the guide. No walking around or switching stands without authorization.
All hunters are expected to follow the game laws as set forth by the states of Missouri and Iowa.
Absolutely NO smoking inside the lodge at any time.
Alcohol is allowed but is NOT provided. Hunters wishing to bring their own may do so (no bottles please). Alcohol is only allowed at the end of the days hunt. Any hunter drinking before the end of the days hunt will be done for the day- NO EXCEPTIONS. Any hunter whose drinking becomes a problem for the staff or our other guests will be asked to leave.
Any hunter who shoots an animal must wait for their assigned guide before attempting to recover the animal.
They are a fully licensed and insured outfitter. However, they are not responsible for any accident, injury, or theft. A liability release must be signed at time of arrival.
